WaveNote is our own note-taking app: handwriting, PDF markup, lecture recording and AI study tools in one workspace that keeps working with the network off.

A student ends up with four apps and one set of notes scattered across them - a stylus app for handwriting, a reader for the PDF, a recorder for the lecture, and something else again for revision. Nothing searches across the four, and most handwriting apps quietly flatten a page into a picture the moment you close it.
We built one workspace on a single document model. Ink is stored as vector strokes carrying pressure per point, so a page written last term is still editable this term. PDF annotations attach to the real text layer and export back into the file, on the right page at the right size. Audio is timestamped against individual strokes, so tapping a word you scribbled plays back what was being said as you wrote it. Everything writes to a local database first and is served by a service worker, which is why the app opens and works with no connection at all.
